“In preparing for battle, I have always found that plans are useless but planning is indispensable.”
- Dwight Eisenhower
Lesson planning can of course be a time consuming and even redundant at times. Though it is of course essential with some administrators even collecting lesson plans weekly. However, there is never a reason to reinvent the wheel.
Below are helpful lesson planning sites to rather stream line the process.
Betterlesson- An amazing site with thousands of contributions from real teachers in the classroom. A great way to avoid "reinventing the wheel," Betterlesson offers all these lesson plans for you use or innovate free of charge.
Promethean Planet- For those that are tech-minded, this site offers thousands of pre-made lessons for use through a Promethean Smart Board. Creating lessons for a smart board can be exceedingly time consuming, so this site helps by giving great frameworks to use or improvise to individual needs.
10 Minute Lesson Plans- While this site may not give anything ready to use and implement, it does have a great setup to help organize and put out your thoughts. It then organizes your small pieces of ideas into a great looking coherent lesson plan in PDF form for emailing/printing/editing. Did I mention it helps do all this in a streamline process that takes about 10 minutes?
I love the comic you've included, as a new teacher it is extremely easy to be convoluted into thinking you have to do everything in a new and fresh way. It took a good 4 months before I realized I was needlessly doing things the hard way. I cannot think of more apt advice!
